On May 26, 2009 68-year-old Thomas E. Steves was killed in a trucking accident. The 18-wheeler accident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. as Steves was riding his motorcycle near Cabot, Arkansas. Steves' motorcycle collided with the trailer of the 18-wheeler as he passed through the intersection of Arkansas 107 and Arkansas 89.

An 18-wheeler rolled over on I-220
On May 27, 2009, an 18-wheeler overturned in Ridgland, MS. The trucking accident occurred in the early afternoon hours as an 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on I-220 when the truck rounded a curved section of road on I-55. Authorities suspect that the driver was going too fast around the corner causing the truck and trailed to overturn. No serious injuries were reported.

One person hospitalized following an 18-wheeler accident in Denison, TX
On May 25, 2009, an 18-wheeler accident in Denison, TX sent one driver to the hospital. The 18-wheeler accident occurred during the afternoon hours as an 18-wheeler heading south on Austin Ave. collided with a passenger car traveling west on Coffin St. The details of the accident are somewhat sketchy, but it is known that the driver of the car was transported to Texoma Medical Center for treatment of non life-threatening injures. The injured driver has yet to have been identified.

A train collides with an 18-wheeler in Maud, TX
On May 21, 2009, an 18-wheeler was struck by a train in Maud, Texas. The accident occurred in the morning hours off of Highway 67. According to authorities, the unladen truck was attempting to pull into a timber yard when the truck crossed the path of the train, causing it to strike the truck. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

A trucking accident occurred Warren County, GA injuring truck driver Kenneth Woodfork
On May 20, 2009 a fatal 18-wheeler accident occurred in Warren County, GA. The trucking accident occurred on I-20 westbound near mile marker 158 at approximately 3:00 a.m. when one 18-wheeler crashed into another that was broken down in the emergency lane. Following the accident, the first 18-wheeler driver lost control, left the roadway, and traveled down a steep embankment and crashed into a row of trees. The driver of the stranded 18-wheeler, Kenneth Woodfork suffered injuries of an unspecified extent. The driver of the second truck, James Bush, died in the accident.

67-year-old Bill Snyder killed in an 18-wheeler accident while riding scooter
On may 14, 2009 an 18-wheeler accident claimed the life of 67-year-old Bill Snyder. The accident occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. as Snyder was riding his Honda Helix moped on Riverwatch Parkway in Augusta, GA. The driver of an 18-wheeler rock hauler employed by Tucker Grading and Hauling made a left hand turn into Snyder's path causing his scooter to collide with the tires of the trailer. The injuries sustained proved to be fatal. Mr. Snyder is survived by 4 children and 11 grand children. The driver of the truck has been charged with vehicular homicide.

28-year-old Marquetta Grate killed by light pole that was struck by an 18-wheeler
On May 15, 2009 28-year-old Marquetta Grate of Homewood, PA was died when she was struck by a light pole that was knocked over by an 18-wheeler. The trucking accident occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. at a bus stop on Frankstown Ave near East Liberty Blvd. when an 18-wheeler, operated by Levin Furniture, struck a light pole causing it to fall onto Ms. Grate. The 800 lb. pole struck her in the head. The accident occurred right after Grate dropped her 3-year-old daughter off at a daycare facility across the street.

Trucking accident claims one life in Alamaba
On May 15, 2009 a trucking accident occurred that claimed the life of a man near Prattville, AL. Details of the accident are sketchy, but it known that the accident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. on I-65 northbound. According to authorities, the unidentified male driver of a passenger vehicle died as his vehicle slid under the trailer of the 18-wheeler near exit 179.

Six people were injured in a Marion County trucking accident
On May 11, 2009, six people were injured in a trucking accident in Marion County, TN. The accident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Highway 150 halfway up the mountain past U.S. Highway 41 as an 18-wheeler rolled over on the highway. The 18-wheeler split into in two and caught fire. A van with six occupants crashed into some portion of the 18-wheeler, injuring all six of the van's passengers. The accident is being investigated by authorities.

47-year-old Donnie Roshong killed in trucking accident
On May 8, 2009 47-year-old tow truck operator Donnie Roshong was killed in a an 18-wheeler accident. The trucking accident occurred in the morning hours as Roshong was working to assist a disabled 18-wheeler on I-49 in Natchitoches Parish near the Posey Road exit. According to authorities, a cattle truck crashed into the disabled 18-wheeler forcing that vehicle into Roshong. All three vehicles caught fire and Roshong was fatally wounded. Approximately 1/3 of the 1500 head of cattle aboard the cattle truck died as well. Investigators have not yet released the official cause of the accident.

44-year-old Christopher Horton killed in a trucking accident
On May 6, 2009 44-year-old Christopher Horton was killed in a trucking accident. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. as Horton's Toyota struck an 18-wheeler trailer while traveling southbound on Highway 65. Horton was air lifted to Kern Medical Center where he later expired. Authorities suspect that Horton was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

34-year-old Sheriff's deputy Robert Eugene Beane killed in an 18-wheeler accident
On May 5, 2009 34-year-old Robert Eugene Beane was killed in a trucking accident. The 18-wheeler accident occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. as Deputy Beane and three other deputies from the Beauregard Parish Sherrif's Department were traveling in a Chevrolet Suburban on Highway 1 just south of Shreveport, LA. According to authorities, an 18-wheeler pulled out of a truck stop onto the roadway whereby his trailer blocked all lanes. Deputy Beane could not avoid the truck and ran into the trailer. It is believed that Deputy Beane was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. 21-year-old Deputy Lance Grant, 34-year-old Deputy Brian Leedom, and 38-year-old Dale Sharpe were all injured in the accident, and were taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport.

Two people are dead as the result of an 18-wheeler accident in Arcadia, LA
On April 29, 2009 an accident involving an 18-wheeler claimed the lives of two people. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on I-20 just east of Arcadia, LA. as, allegedly, the driver of a Toyota Corolla drove across a median causing his vehicle to be struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler. Both the unidentified driver and the passenger of the Toyota Corrola were killed. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not seriously injured.

An 18-wheeler overturns in Marshall TX
On April 29, 2009 a single vehicle trucking accident occurred in Marshall, TX. The trucking accident took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. as an 18-wheeler was traveling on Loop 390 near Houston Street. According to authorities, the driver attempted to round a corner at a high rate of speed causing the vehicle to rollover and land a guard rail. The driver suffered only minor injuries and no one else was injured in the accident.
