Fatal accident in Austin involving an 18-wheeler
On January 20, 2009 a fatal traffic accident occurred in Austin, TX.The accident occurred in the early morning traffic on I-35 northbound as an unidentified female was driving a late model Chevrolet Monte Carlo. According to witnesses the driver began to swerve and then stopped her car abruptly. The car was then rear ended by an 18-wheeler which ejected the driver from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

18-wheeler slams into concrete barricade on Houston HOV lane.
On January 22, 2009 an 18-wheeler slammed into a concrete barrier in a north Houston HOV lane. The accident occurred in the mid afternoon as the unidentified driver of the 18-wheeler lost control of his truck. The truck slammed into the concrete barrier that separates the HOV lane from the opposite direction of traffic destroying a large section of the barrier. No injuries were reported in the accident.

18-wheeler oveturns in Monroe, LA.
On January 22, 2009 an 18-wheeler carrying a payload of logs overturned in Monroe, LA. The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. as 38-year-old Gregory Smith exited the Jackson St. ramp off of I-20. The truck rolled onto its side and struck a utility pole sending the pole crashing into a white Dodge pickup before coming to a stop. Smith was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding, and careless operation of a motor vehicle. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the accident.

24-year-old police officer Jarod Dean killed when hit by truck
On January 19, 2008 24-year-old Boston Heights police officers Jarod Dean was killed when he was struck by a box truck. The accident occurred early in the morning in Boston Heights, OH as Officer Dean was helping to clear debris from an earlier accident. He died at the scene.

34-year-old Michael Birdsong killed in 18-wheeler accident
On January 17, 2008 34-year-old Michael Birdsong of New Boston, TX lost his life in an 18-wheeler accident. The accident occurred at approximately 3:00 AM in the westbound lanes of I-30 in Miller County, LA. The specifics of the accidents have not been made available by authorities. The driver of the 18-wheeler has not been charged as of yet.

Train collides with 18-wheeler in Forney, TX
On January 12, 2008 an 18-wheeler was struck by a train in Forney, TX. The accident occurred at approximately 9:00 AM as Clarence Thomas, the driver of the 18-wheeler, slowed as he crossed a railway intersection to allow an emergency vehicle to pass. While stopped on the tracks the driver did not hear the warning bells indicating that a train was approaching. The river noticed the train moments before impact and was able to jump from the truck before the train struck. The 18-wheeler was badly damaged but the driver was not injured.

4-year-old Albert Galindo is crushed to death by 18-wheeler
On January 13, 2008 4-year-old Albert Galindo lost his life when he was ran over by an 18-wheeler. The accident occurred at 2006 S. Fairgrounds Road in Midland, TX.at approximately 3:00 PM. The child's father, Sylvester Galindo started the 18-wheeler without realizing that it was in gear. The truck rolled forward crushing the child who was playing near one of the wheels. Albert was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

41-year-old Hayward Labbe killed in 18-wheeler accident
On January 10, 2009 41-year-old Hayward Labbe was killed in an accident involving both a passenger car and an 18-wheeler. The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 A.M. just after sunrise in Acadia Parish, LA. on LA 97 as 28-year-old Timothy Lowry and passenger 27-year-old Alicia Fruge of Jennings, LA were traveling southbound and crossed over the center line crashing head-on onto Labbe's Ford Mustang. The Mustang came to rest in the southbound lane where it was struck by an 18-wheeler. The force of the crash from the 18-wheeler pushed the Mustang some 150 feet before it came to rest for the second time. Investigators are trying to determine whether Labbe was killed by the initial crash or by the crash with the 18-wheeler.

4-year-old Ethan Rodenberg killed in accident with 18-wheeler
On December, 30 2008 4-year-old Ethan Rodenberg tragically lost his life in an accident with an 18-wheeler. According to authorities, the child was riding his bicycle near downtown Ulysses, KS. at approximately 6:00 PM when he was struck by the 18-wheeler while crossing the street.
