According to early news reports three people were injured in a multiple vehicle wreck involving five cars an an 18-wheeler that occurred near 6 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 28 on Interstate 35 near the exit for Highway 6 in Waco TX. Two of the injured people were taken by ambulance to a hospital; the other injured person was able to drive themselves to an emergency room. Traffic became backed up. The cause of the wreck is still being investigated.
In such instances it may be assumed that the truck driver was at fault. There is often just as likely a chance that one of the car drivers was at fault or that some other entity not even directly involved in the accident may have been the cause or a major contributing factor to the accident. Multiple vehicle wrecks can often have more than one cause as well. The negligent party or parties may be held civilly liable for the injuries that ensued if their behavior caused or contributed to this accident. In some instances an independent investigation may be warranted so that the cause or causes can be known.
