On Sunday, August 29, an 18 wheeler crashed near
Houston, TX, causing a dangerous chemical spill.The accident occurred on Interstate 10,
where, according to news stories, an 18 wheeler collided with a pickup truck
and overturned, causing a massive chemical spill.The chemical that was spilled was identified
as isobutene, a highly flammable and corrosive chemical.Interstate 10 was closed and numerous homes
were evacuated.Police stated that the
homes would remain evacuated until at least noon on Monday.Police are still investigating the accident
while hazmat teams attempt to clean up the spill.No word yet on how the cleanup process is
going.
