18 wheeler driver Steven Snitker dies after truck leaves the interstate in Portage, MI.
On Tuesday, August 10, an 18 wheeler accident in
Portage, MI claimed the life of the 18 wheeler’s driver, 58-year-old Steven
Snitker.Snitker was travelling on
Interstate 94 at roughly 1:15 a.m. when the crash happened.Early news reports about the crash state that
the 18 wheeler suddenly left the road, crashed into a concrete barrier, and
burst into flames.The 18 wheeler was destroyed,
and the intensity of the flames prevented rescue workers from trying to reach
Snitker.Snitker was killed at the
scene.Police are investigating the
crash, attempting to figure out what caused the 18 wheeler to leave the road.
