18 wheeler driver Max Anderson killed in big rig wreck near Marion, NC.

On Sunday, August 15, 30-year-old truck driver Max Jerome Anderson was killed in a fatal 18 wheeler accident near Marion, NC.  The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 40, close to mile marker 77.  Early reports about the crash indicate that Anderson somehow lost control of his truck, which left the roadway, crashed into a guardrail, and then overturned onto its side.  Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma.  Police have not yet determined exactly how the crash occurred.  No skid marks were found at the scene, and investigators do not yet know whether or not the truck’s brakes were functioning.  The incident remains under investigation.
