Valerie Rutstein tragically killed in multi-vehicle accident involving 18 wheeler in Cheyenne, WY.
On Wednesday, March 24, Valerie Rutstein was tragically killed in a 21-vehicle accident involving multiple 18 wheelers in Cheyenne, WY. According to initial police reports, the accident allegedly began with an 18 wheeler jackknifing. Rutstein was in a passenger vehicle involved in the incident, along with seven other passenger cars, a school bus, and twelve big rigs. Police believe that icy road conditions and speed played a role in the crash. The investigation into the incident is still underway.
18 wheeler accidents often have tragic consequences. In many cases, investigation determines that these accidents are caused by negligence (on the part of the truck driver, the trucking company, or some other entity). In these situations, family members of the victims of these incidents may wish to file an 18 wheeler accident lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is never easy. I have worked on these types of cases for twenty years, and in my experience, trucking companies and their drivers will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident. Ultimately, however, the law is on you side, and with the help of an experienced 18 wheeler accident lawyer, even the trucking industry can be held accountable for its negligence.
