Sanitation worker Frank Justich killed after being struck by semi-truck
A Wednesday morning collision in Astoria, Queens, NY, left 41-year-old sanitation worker Frank Justich dead. At around 7:45 a.m., a tractor trailer attempting to turn onto Ditmars Blvd struck the rear of a sanitation truck, killing Justich, who was standing near the back of the truck. Justich was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m.
If you are suffering from the loss of a loved one killed in an accident with an 18-wheeler, you should know that you have certain rights. Wrongful death statutes were put in place to ensure that the dependents of the person wrongly killed are not financially burdened by the loss of the victim. Often times, more importantly, they punish the negligent party in order help ensure that an accident such as this doesn't happen to somebody else in the future. An experienced wrongful death attorney will evaluate your case, determine if there are negligent parties at fault, and if so, work on your side to recover the compensation you deserve for your loss.
