Dallas tractor trailer accident attorney Michael Grossman discusses accidents involving falling cargo

Dallas Tractor Trailer Accidents Involving Falling Cargo

With all the construction going on in the Dallas area, we are seeing an unfortunately high number of accidents involving cargo falling from tractor trailers. These cases create unique difficulties, above and beyond the usual problems that victims face when trying to go after commercial transport companies.

These types of cases often involve multiple defendants. For example, if the cargo was loaded onto the trailer by a company other than the one that owns the truck, that loading company may be partially liable for improperly securing the load.

Sometimes the equipment used to secure the cargo or even the trailer itself are defective.  In these cases, the companies that manufactured the equipment could be a defendant as well if it was determined that the accident resulted due to a faulty product.

If the accident resulted from a collision with another vehicle, the driver of the other vehicle may be liable as well.  Or if the cargo was forced off the trailer due to a collision with a tree, power line, overpass, or some other stationary object, the organization that planned the truck's route could be to blame.

Our Attorneys Know How to Properly Investigate Such Events

Sometimes even finding the defendants can be difficult.  In cases involving fallen cargo, the truck driver is often unaware that an accident has even occurred.  Other times, he or she may flee the scene.  Tracking down the driver and then determining the cause of the crash then becomes much more difficult.

The complex nature of these sorts of cases can be overwhelming for those unfamiliar with commercial vehicle accident law.  The Dallas tractor trailer accident attorneys of Grossman Law Offices have twenty years of experience with cases involving fallen cargo.  We can help you track down all potential defendants in your case in order to get the compensation you are owed.
