Weatherford man killed in 18-wheeler crash

A 39-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident Friday night when the top of his pickup was sheared off as he drove under an 18-wheeler, said Fort Worth police Lt. Dean Sullivan, a department spokesman.

Russell Blanchard of Weatherford was driving east on Camp Bowie Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. when the 18-wheeler came through the cross street at Longvue Avenue in West Fort Worth. The pickup went under the center of the 18-wheeler.

Mr. Blanchard died at the scene, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's Web site.
