Students Tiffany Allen, Keely Schlabs and Tabitha Collins suffer non life-threatening injuries in 18-wheeler accident

On April 29, 2009 an 18-wheeler accident left three East Texas Baptist University students injured. The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon as Tiffany Allen, Keely Schlabs and Tabitha Collins were traveling in a Dodge Neon on U.S. highway 80 in the right lane. The driver of an 18-wheeler was traveling next to the Neon in the left lane. According to authorities, the truck attempted a wide right turn into a parking lot, unaware that the Neon was in the next lane. The two vehicles collided causing damage to the front of the Dodge Neon. Ms. Collins, the driver of the Dodge was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a neck injury. The two passengers are believed to have suffered less severe injuries.
