Myia Shepard killed in accident with 18-wheeler

On November 19, 2008 29-year-old Myia Shepard, a mother of 3 children, lost her life in a tragic commercial truck accident. The accident occurred on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge in Wilmington, NC. as Shepard, a Navy veteran, was driving to pick up her children from school when an 18-wheeler and a flatbed truck collided on the opposite side of the bridge. The flatbed truck lost control and crashed through the guardrail striking Shepard's Chevy Tahoe. Shepard died at the scene along with her unborn fourth child. Shepard's boyfriend, George Deschamps, and his 4-year-old son were also traveling in the vehicle with Shepard. Their condition is not yet known.
