54-year-old Gayle Lee of Bay City killed in 18-wheeler accident
On October 17, 2008 54-year-old Gayle Lee of Bay City, TX. died when his car was struck by an 18-wheeler. The accident occurred as Lee was traveling southbound on FM 172 toward Port Lavaca at approximately 8:15 AM. An 18-wheeler driver for Teppco Crude Oil LLC. was at a stop sign perpendicular to the highway when the truck pulled out and collided with Lee's Honda.
Lee's Honda was struck hard enough to cause the vehicle to spin several times. Lee died instantly from blunt force trauma.
A note from Texas 18-wheeler accident attorney E. Michael Grossman:
This is a sad story indeed. Mr. Lee appears to have been minding his own business driving for work when, allegedly, out of nowhere the reckless actions of the 18-wheeler driver took his life. My firm has handled countless 18-wheeler accident cases and there is often some element of liability that both parties share in the accident, however, it would appear that in this accident the driver of the 18-wheeler is entirely to blame. That is simply unacceptable. I wish the best for Mr. Lee's family and I hope they consider taking legal action against the guilty parties in this accident. This should not go unpunished.
