On October 12, 2008 an 18-wheeler fuel tanker exploded near downtown Dallas, TX. The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 PM at the intersection of Highway 310 and Highway 175. The 18-wheeler was reportedly driving southbound on Highway 175 when, according to witnesses, the driver was going too fast to make the curve causing the truck to overturn. The driver was able to escape moments before the tanker exploded. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
