With scant details available from the initial news reports regarding this tragic, fatal accident, it's challenging to assess what may have gone wrong. However, even when more details are available regarding an accident, news reports are seldom exhaustive in their efforts to assess what may have led to an accident. Consequently, an independent investigation may be pursued if any type of negligent behavior by any involved party is suspected of having played a role in this fatal accident. When an 18-wheeler is involved in a wreck, many issues may have played a role, from driver drowsiness or distraction, to other issues like a mechanical malfunction or a shifting cargo load. Additionally, negligent driving by an entity other than a truck driver may have just as likely been a contributing factor. Pending the completion of a thorough investigation, such issues cannot be known. Through a third-party investigation that can look into the accident site in order to identify the liable parties, such answers may be known.
