76-year-old Betty Foshee Davis dies in an 18-wheeler accident near Longview, TX.
On August 9, 2008 76-year-old Betty Foshee Davis was killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler. The accident occurred on Texas 149 south of Easton, TX. at approximately 11AM. Davis was traveling in a Ford Explorer along with her husband and two others when the accident occurred. The driver of the Ford Explorer decelerated to avoid a wreck that was on the road ahead of them. A Dodge pickup slowed down as well. An 18-wheeler that was behind both vehicles failed to slow quickly enough resulting in the 18-wheeler crashing into the truck and SUV. Davis was killed in the accident. Authorities believe the speed of the truck and wet conditions contributed to the accident.
